Hampton Inn & Suites Arcata, CA

This is our "go to" hotel when we visit our daughter and grandkids. The staff here is FANTASTIC! Super nice and very accommodating. Don't have a single bad thing to say about the service and attitude of those working here. Please keep up the great hospitality! The kids love the indoor pool, the gym is nice as an option while on the go, and the breakfast is what you'd expect from a Hampton Inn. The location is also great. Easy to hop on the freeway, the college is close and downtown Arcata is a few minutes down the road. There is a grocery store, gas, and decent food options nearby as well. There are some slightly "sketchy" lodging options in the Arcata area, but here we've always felt safe. If there was ONE suggestion/complaint it would be to upgrade the beds. :) But the nice size rooms and everything else I've mentioned easily makes up for this. Thank you!

I stayed here again last week and had a room where the hot water wasn’t as hot as I liked it. It was warm. I like my showers hot. Room 236

We had a great stay here at the Hampton Inn, Arcata, California check-in was fast and easy room was very nice and quite large room 322 on the third floor. We also enjoyed the indoor pool and Jacuzzi very relaxing after a long day of hiking the redwood forest. there is dining close by and a short drive to the redwoods to the north and to the south

Clean rooms but service was hit and miss depending who was working. Tyler in particularly was helpful and accommodating during check in. Woman running the breakfast bar was amazing too with everything always stocked and clean. They started switching out the furniture in all the rooms on our third night as part of a remodel. No notice this was happening and had someone try to enter the room on our last day while changing. Luckily had the extra lock on the door secured. While we were leaving one of the workers asked if we were coming back. When I said “No”, I didn’t mean for the day. I’ll find another hotel next time. Very glad we were not there during the day or would have changed hotels.

Very friendly employee at check in and beautiful lobby. Great free hot breakfast. The only downside was our room was fairly noisy all night with a mechanical grinding noise we eventually realized was the sliding doors to enter the building right below our room. Thankfully, people stopped going in and out later in the night and we were able to sleep. Still a good location to stay while visiting the Redwoods.

Nice rooms. Bathrooms recently remodeled, bedroom area is dated and well in line with Hampton decor. Laundry room needs repair, as the dryers leave the clothing damp and require at least two runs to be dry. Front desk/management seems to already know about the issue.

Nice room, clean, evening staff very helpful. Day staff very robotic and worst breakfast ever. Food was cold, I'm a cook so I know it wasn't even up to health regulations. Parking lot always wet and had am ice were told by am desk person "oh I put a note on the door" Noone reads notes. Decent clean pool and jacuzzi. Unfortunately no photos.

Nice clean rooms and facilities. Breakfast was good, but not sure if some things can't be helped... skip the steam pan stuff like hash browns or sausage. The waffles are great and anything else you can make fresh. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed our stay and would recommend it over other nearby hotels.
